The Princess has been kidnapped by the evil Bowser, and it is up to Mario and brother Luigi to save the day.
The first ever platform adventure for the Mario Brothers has you exploring level after level, with Bowser to contend with as the end of level boss. Power-ups include the Super Mushroom, which increases your size and power, the fire flower, allowing you to shoot fireballs at enemies, and the ever important starman for a short burst of invincibility.
Each level includes a bonus section filled with coins plus a shortcut through the level, plenty of bad buys and obstacles to get past, and an end of level flag, in which the higher you grab it, the more points are awarded to you. Certain levels also include warp points, which take you to higher levels.
In Duck Hunt you need to use the Nintendo's light zapper to shoot ducks which your trusty dog scares out of the swamp. Either one or two ducks fly out at a time, and you have three shots and a limited amount of time to shoot the ducks before they fly away. Each round only allows a limited number of misses in order to move on successfully. As the rounds progress, the ducks begin flying faster and faster, and fewer misses are allowed. After you've mastered hunting ducks, you can move on to the target range and practice shooting clay pigeons. The rules here are the same with only three shots to destroy two clay pigeons before they disappear off the horizon. Destroy enough clay pigeons to move on to the next, tougher round.
